introduction:
BetFair is a fast growing poker website. They have recently become independent and are no longer apart of the poker network. BetFair is considered to be quite a young poker site but for their size and the time they have been running the site has come on leaps and bounds. They were the major sponsors of the 2007 WSOPE (World Series of Poker of Europe) which is the biggest poker tournament outside the US. This gave them the advertising they needed to put them on the map and be put in the same category as some of the major poker sites available today.
graphics and the look:
A few years ago BetFair left the Cryptologic network and created their own graphics and poker tables. This isn’t usually the done thing but you have to give them credit for wanting to stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately the software wasn’t quite up to scratch and they received quite a lot of bad press for the lack of functionality. But they didn’t give up, in 2007 they gave the software a major revamp taking into consideration all the comments and the hard work certainly paid off. It is still not up to par with some of the other poker sites out there but its still worth a look. Its got all the usual features of note taking and table statistics etc but with the added bonus of being able to resize the poker tables individually. This allows you to play up to 15 tables at once, something which is not available on many other poker sites.
the games and tournaments:
Betfair Poker only offers Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi and Omaha Hi-Lo. This isn’t a wide range granted but they are the most popular games that the majority of players prefer to play.
Their tournaments are good and you can win high amounts daily. They range from buy ins from $0.05 to $550 and so you can find a game to suit you whatever level you are at. They offer a daily $100 buyin / $15,000 daily scheduled tournament which is popular and they run satellites to almost all big live poker events, including the WSOP, WPT and the EPT. BetFair are the major sponsors of the WSOPE and so they usually have great offers and promotions for this as well.
On the whole BetFair Poker doesn’t have as many games as other poker sites, and the graphics aren’t as good either, but they do have the basic games and some funky features to the poker tables which make a big difference.
bonuses and promotions:
BetFair offer a great bonus of up to $600. They also offer a great promotion whereby depending on your play in certain games you can win up to $3000 extra. Bonus dollars are cleared at $10 per 400 Betfair Poker points, and these can be accumulated at ring games and tournaments. They also have a great refer-a-friend bonus, a Betfair point system, and a Threedom Pass, which is where players can earn live tournament packages.
customer support:
Customer support is great at BetFair, one of the best around. They have a 24/7 helpdesk offering email support and telephone. They have an extensive FAQs section and an Online Help section. BetFair definitely stand out from the rest with regards to their customer support.
