online poker multi tabling

For anyone who has played poker online or is about to get started you should be aware of the feature called multi tabling. What does this mean? Multi tabling on online poker sites means playing in more than one game of poker at once. So where you would have your poker table on screen you can resize that table so it’s smaller and join a few other games of poker and play them all together. Most poker sites limit how many poker tables you can join at once but this limit is quite high at like 14 to 16, so that is affair few poker games to be playing all at the same time. The multi tabling feature never used to be present on all online poker sites but over the last few years, and the last few upgrades, poker sites came to realise that multi tabling was a must if they wanted to keep their poker players playing on their site.

Why would you want to play more than one game of poker all at the same time? Time is money! With playing poker online there is no personal interaction. When playing poker in person your full attention and concentration needs to be placed into the game watching your opponents and the game. Playing poker online this element is taken out, of course you still need to pay attention to the other players but it is not as intense and so your concentration can be put into other games, which is why people play multiple games at once. Multi tabling is particularly popular in tournaments; some say it is easier to multi tale in tournaments than in ring games because you don’t need to watch other players as much. If you can win x amount from playing one game of poker then you can win ten times as much by playing ten games. Even if you consider the percentage of time you fold and lose money, you’ll still win more money playing more than one game depending on your winning odds.

One thing to remember when multi tabling on online poker sites is to remember the response time. Obviously with playing up to 16 games of poker you need to be quite fast with your hands and how you play each hand, you don’t want to hold up the game and annoy other players. If you are a beginner to multi tabling why not start off with playing in 2 games at once and then add more when you feel more confident in playing in multiple games, you’ll soon pick it up.
