lesson #7 expectations at the poker table by chris wilcox
I want to address the expectations that you, as a poker player, have when you sit down at a poker table, either online or in a live casino game. I think many times as players learn how to play "good" or at least better poker, they sometimes have unreasonable expectations as to how events may unfold during any given game.

lesson #6  how to play late in a tournament  by Chris Wilcox
Multi table tournaments are a great way to make money playing online poker and I go into detail on this in my book.
Last night I was playing a 90 player multi table Sit n Go on Full Tilt. I had gotten to the final table and had a pretty average stack.

NEWSLETTER THE ALL IN by Chris Wilcox
One thing that you need to be prepared to see time after time, whether it makes any sense or not, is players going all-in. I have played in some tournaments with large numbers of entrants and I probably saw an all-in bet made every minute or two, especially early in the tournament.

Lesson #2 PLAYING THE SHORT STACK
Obviously you never WANT to be stuck playing a short stack. If you can say playing a short stack has never happened to you, you would be the luckiest poker player alive......  The fact of the matter is, if you play much Texas Holdem, particularly Sit n Go tournaments, then you are going to find yourself playing catch up from time to time.

lesson #3 how to play against agreesive players by chris wilcox
I just got done playing a 90 player Sit n Go on Full Tilt and I felt compelled to write about a player who was playing at my table for about the latter 1/2 of the tournament. If you have played much online poker at all, you have probably seen this type of player, or at least a variation of him; I call him the "hyper-aggressive" player.

Lesson #4 DEALING WITH BAD BEATS by chris wilcox
If you are going to play poker, either online or off, you will lose some hands that you really "should" have won. Otherwise known as a "bad beat." By this I mean, you are such an odds on favorite that winning the lottery would seem probable compared to losing the hand. How poker players react to these losses, bad beats, bad luck, however you want to refer to it, is something that I think is over looked. Losing hands that you are sure to win can affect you poker "mind set" both in the short term and the long term. Learning to handle these situations is crucial to becoming a better player.

lesson #5 playing low to middle pocket pairs by Chris Wilcox
One mistake that I see over and over frominternet Texas Hold'em players is how they choose to play pocket pairs, especially low to mid pocket pairs.

lesson #8 playing larger tournaments by chris wilcox
